ArduPilot is an open-source autopilot codebase for aircraft, ground vehicles, boats, submarines, antenna trackers, and simulation. It is primarily C++ firmware with a large shared library layer, hardware abstraction layers, MAVLink integration, Python simulation tooling, and Waf-based build workflows.
